Let's take a look at building and running a strategy-first organization

Strategy in a Box Highlighted Step 1

Step 1: Define your Strategy:

Defining a strategy, whether it be a business, operational, product, or market strategy,  is the critical first step to ensuring business success. Begin by clearly stating your goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes—these elements provide direction, purpose, and a way to track progress. Our approach utilizes Planning Statements to help you organize each aspect of your strategy in a logical, easy-to-understand hierarchy. Start by setting broad, overarching goals. Then, break these goals down into specific objectives that outline the actions needed to move forward. Finally, define measurable outcomes for each objective so you can assess achievement and drive continuous improvement. Additionally,  you can also make your strategy actionable by linking planning statements to objects, for example,  capabilities or resources within your organization. The linkages are used later during the Strategy Mapping in Step 3.

Step 2: Define Business Processes and Associated Data

At this stage, you will conceptualize the key business processes, activities, workflows, and data sources that are essential for implementing and executing your project strategy.

Using Visible's "IntelliViews," we automatically create comprehensive views of your data model. IntelliViews allow you to monitor the effectiveness of your strategy in real time by providing you with key insights. It quickly highlights potential issues or unintended outcomes, allowing you to make informed adjustments to your business strategy.

Step 3: Map Your Workflow, Data, and Process Models.

In this step, you bring your strategy to life by building clear connections between your defined Planning Statements, data sources, and process models. Start by reviewing the business processes and data elements mapped in the previous steps, and visualize how each part interacts to support your goals.

Analyze your current systems, applications, and workflows to determine if any updates or enhancements are needed. This might involve refining existing processes, integrating new software tools, or reallocating resources to ensure alignment with your business strategy. By clearly mapping these relationships, you gain a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities required for successful execution.

Step 4: Gain Comprehensive Insights into Strategy Performance.

Our platform seamlessly maps the planning statements you have defined to the corresponding models and underlying data sources essential to your strategy. At this stage, you can perform ad-hoc queries on any aspect of your strategy to obtain actionable insights. The platform enables you to drill down and aggregate data from diverse, distributed sources. Its robust API architecture ensures straightforward integration with your existing IT infrastructure, whether on-premises or in the cloud, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
